We offer fun and educational one-on-one sessions with your child(ren) where we bring the games, puzzles, crafts and activities to ensure an upbeat and edutaining evening in your home or hotel room. Sitters Available in All 5 Boroughs.Major Credit Cards Accepted. Bag if Tricks Babysitting is paid through Bag of Tricks Babysitting Bundles, available for purchase below. Purchase of Bundle hours need not be used in one session and does not expire. Includes up to three children per family and allows last-minute and same-day booking pending sitter availability. For long-term ongoing sitting appointments, personal meetings can be arranged pending sitter availability.Can I use the same sitter each time?You may always request your regular sitter; We love creating lasting relationships. To increase he likelihood that your requested sitter will be available, we encourage you to request that sitter as much in advance of the desired date as possible.How are sitters selected?Each sitter is CPR and First Aid certified, reference-checked, experienced and cleared through the NY State Sex Offenders Registry. The sitter assigned to your family will be one whose experience matches the age(s), needs and disposition(s) of your child(ren). How do I pay for my sitter's services?Payment is made via major credit or debit card for the purchase of a Bag of Tricks Babysitting Bundle. Bundles are available in denominations or 3, 5, 10, 25 or 50 hours and can be purchase at our online store. Bundles do not expire and can be used for up to three children simultaneously. If your sitter is leaving your home or hotel past 9:00pm, a $15.00 transportation stipend is payable directly to your sitter. Tipping is neither expected nor required but is permitted. Please note that there is a 3-hour minimum for each sitter reservation.

You may reserve a block of 2 or 4 hours of childcare and must reserve your childs space at least 2 days prior to ensure there is space available for your child(ren).

Profiles 1 Shani HadjianShani has been acting, singing, and dancing since the age of 2 and continued up through her graduation with a BFA in Music Theatre. With that being said, if you hear her singing with kids, busting a move for a short dance party, speaking in strange voices, and putting on animated short plays with the children... please, JOIN IN!! Apart from being musically inclined, Shani runs her own photography business, plays volleyball, swims, and likes to eat ice cream. This summer, Shani was seen with the NY City Explorers Camp as their Aquatics Director, traveling with the kids every day and making sure everyone had a fun, educational, and safe time! Prior to camp, Shani taught swim lessons for 10 years to ages ranging from infant to adult. She has a long history of lifeguarding as well as babysitting lots of her students because they just can't get enough of her! Coming from Ohio, Shani has a great Midwestern personality and is fluent in English and Princess-talk.
Sam PinkletonSam's most valuable lesson for his charges? Dreams really do come true! Sam is one of the oft-talked about, rarely seen working actors in our city! While he originally hails from Richmond, Virginia, Sam has been in the city since 2004, when he began attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Sam loves all that this city has to offer, including museums, dance classes and, of course, the theatre, and has been sharing his enthusiasm for all things artistic with his sitting charges since he began caring for little ones over 5 years ago. Sam works not only as one of our sitters but as a lead summer camp counselor as well. He was an immediate client favorite, and we're lucky to have him!
Walis JohnsonAfter a long career in documentary film following her graduation as a History Major from Williams College in Massachusetts, Walis is currently pursuing an MFA in New Media and Non-fiction Film at CUNY Hunter College on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. As a native of NYC, one of the fittest major cities in the world, Walis keeps her mind and body strong with frequent yoga, swimming, cycling, dancing and tennis playing. It's easy to see that outdoorsy tots love spending time with her, but even if playing outdoors isn't in the cards for your little one, Walis will keep him/her happy and healthy reading, cooking, or playing with her fave young one's character, Thomas the Tank Engine! When she's not devoting time to her film-making or studies, this art-loving New Yorker enjoys pottery and checking out performance art with friends. She's hopeful that the completion of her MFA will lead to a career making films that will support the development of a radical transformation in the way that young people and adults are educated to see and experience the events in the world through learning art, politics, history, spirituality and media.
Aiko MasubuchiAiko is from Tokyo, Japan and was raised speaking both English and Japanese. While in Japan, she taught English to children between the ages of 3 and 18. In New York, Aiko has worked as an assistant teacher at The American Museum of Natural History where she taught and learned about our environment with children between the ages of 2 and 9. As a student at NYU, she majored in Anthropology and Literature and fell in love with film and poetry. Aiko is an independent film curator and poet and a big advocate in the integration of art in educational settings. She likes sitting because she appreciates knowing that I am one more person in a childs life that cares for him or her. Her favorite sitting memory is of playing Simon Says with the children and touching the tip of my nose. The children were giggling with excitement as they usually did when playing the game. What she did not realize was that they were also giggling because she had touched my nose with brown paint on my finger! Aiko is a natural choice for any parent who wishes to engage children in an environment that fosters fun, curiosity and optimism.
Leah Monzillo Leah, a Ft. Lauderdale, FL native, is a 2005 Performing Arts graduate of the University of Tampa. She's provided rain or shine entertaining care for the children she works with, organizing softball or basketball games or exploring neighborhood playgrounds and parks in the nice weather and holing up with a good book and a charge on her lap on gloomier days. While Leah is a talented cook, happy to prepare any meal requested by the younger set as needed, her more public talents include acting and singing. As a professional singer, Leah has been afforded the opportunity to travel throughout all of Europe and parts of Africa as she worked on a cruise ship as on-board entertainment! When she has her feet on dry land, this singing sitter makes the most of time with friends, attending theatrical productions, and soaking up New York City's foodie scene. Leah loves the fact that no matter how long one lives in this city that never sleeps, there is always something new to do or somewhere new to go. While she can't imagine a life without performing, Leah hopes that within the next few years some of the songs she sings will be lullabies to her own little sweeties.
Amy YurcanAmy has been employed by New York City Explorers for just under 2 years, first as the lead teacher at our Explorers' Club enrichment program, and more recently as our Creative Director and Childcare Coordinator. Amy grew up as the oldest of 5 children in rural New Jersey, so her choice to receive a Masters Degree in Education from Long Island University after graduating from SUNY Purchase in 2004 seemed like a natural one. Having done everything from babysitting and nannying to teaching and tutoring, Amy looks forward to the day when the children that she cares for will be her own! She enjoys reading books to the tots she sits for, organizing arts and crafts, and getting into the kitchen to help little hands bake tasty treats. When she's not planning events and trips for Brooklyn's Explorers, Amy relaxes in her own home with a good recipe and an apron on! In addition to English Amy also speaks German.
Andrea LubranoAndrea is a graduate of George Washington University's Elliot School with a Major in International Affairs and a Minor in Psychology. Her studies have fostered in Andrea an appreciation for exploring other cultures through language, music and film. Andrea has been caring for children as a sitter and nanny for the past 12 years, and has experience that includes overnight vacation care. Andrea enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle and loves to share her appreciation for healthy eating and exercise with the children she looks after. Once she gets home, this super sitter unwinds with a good novel or cookbook. Her love of travel has been helped along by her fluency in Spanish as well as near-fluency in Italian.
Rowan MageeWhile Rowan has yet to show off his culinary skills to the NY City Explorers staff, he comes to us with kitchen experience galore, currently working both as a caterer and d as a kitchen supplies salesman. Rowan graduated from Sarah Lawrence College where he studied Theatre, even working with children in between classes, teaching 3 through 10-years-olds theatre games as part of a work-study program. Rowan puts to pasture the tired notion that women make better caregivers than men, as he spent his high school years babysitting neighborhood children in the Troy, NY neighborhood where he grew up as the son the son of two college professors. Rowan is a true renaissance man who dabbles in athletics, storytelling, singing and dancing, making him a great fit no matter where your tots extracurricular interests lie. Hes even an ace at Algebra, making him a great partner in the homework-help challenge! Once he packs up his Manny Poppins bag and heads home for the day, Rowan enjoys cooking, dancing and tossing a Frisbee.

Profiles 2 Alexandra ThomasAlexandra is a full-time student at St. John's University in Queens. She is working towards a major in Communications with a minor in Film Studies. In addition to her experience as a sitter and nanny, Alex has worked as a volunteer for several local childcare programs and as a teacher for Kumon Learning Center and for a church-affiliated 1st grade classroom. Alexs imagination makes her an especially great playmate and sitter for children of all ages. When she isnt studying or caring for tots, Alex enjoys reading, watching movies and exploring new places in New York City.
Rae Stimson Rae Stimson is an Art Teacher and Teaching Assistant at Explorers Academy preschool. She grew up in the country in Fairfield, Iowa where she spent most of her time drawing, sculpting and observing plants and animals. She relocated out-of-state when she was 15 to pursue her passion for art at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. After graduating she continued her studies at Naropa University in Boulder, CO, from which she received a degree in visual art and a minor in yoga in 2011. Rae works in a wide variety of mediums including woodcarvings, mezzotint printmaking, needle felting and alternative process photography. She moved to NYC to pursue her visual art career, to have access to museums and rare films, and to be with friends. Rae loves to spend time with children because they have fresh, creative outlooks to share. She enjoys watching children make art because they do it out of sheer enjoyment of the process, rather than to create a finished product, resulting in an exceptional boldness of line and color. In teaching the children she likes to nurture this pleasure of process and to inspire them by showing them new potentials in art making. Rae intends to continue to teach art and make art commissions part time, and to create her own art in her free time. She hopes to eventually show her art in museums and to live somewhere that is spacious enough for a pet pig and tortoise.
Vierge BaptisteVierge, an aspiring print journalist, is currently a Junior in the Communications Arts department at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights. A native of Haiti, longtime Brooklyn resident Vierge speaks fluent English and Haitian Creole as well as conversational Spanish. Vierge loves to engage the children she cares for in art projects, especially drawing and coloring, and sometimes snuggles up with a big puzzle herself on a rainy day. Known for her great smile, this sitter always sees the silver lining, even on the cloudiest of days!
Katherine HolmesKatherine is a full-time student at Northeastern University where she is working towards a degree in Political Science with a minor in Education. While at school she works at a dress company called Assar. As a Manhattan native, Katherine has worked as both a babysitter and as a camp counselor at the 92nd Street Y with children ranging from infants through school-aged. While Katherine loves getting hands on with the kids she sits for, delving into arts and crafts, once she has free time to herself she practices her fencing skills! In addition to her native English language, Katherine speaks Spanish.
Maya SheltonMaya is a full-time student at Old Dominion University in Virginia. She is working towards a major in Communications with a minor in Psychology. In addition to babysitting experience that began when Maya was a high school student, she has also worked as a summer camp counselor at both Park Explorers and Kamp 4 Kidz and at afterschool programs at both the Carmine Recreation Center and the Berkeley Carroll School. When caring for little ones, Maya enjoys organizing arts and crafts or an impromptu baby dance party! After classes or sitting is are finished for the day, Maya spends her downtime shopping, writing poetry or enjoying the many delicious Southern comfort foods that Virginia has to offer. In addition to English Maya also speaks conversational Spanish.
Elisa DePalmaElisa DePalma works days as the Teaching Director at Explorers Academy Preschool. When she's not busy planning lessons and overseeing staff at our fantastic preschool, Elisa works part-time as a sitter in both Brooklyn and her native Manhattan, as this lucky lady has been living in SoHo lifelong! With a BA in English/Creative Writing as well as an MS in Early Childhood Education, Elisa's 5 years of teaching experience make her an ideal homework-helper and problem-solver, but her love of sports and pizza mean that your kids will actually enjoy spending time hanging out with her! Rest (or go out on the town!) assured that this energetic, hardworking and friendly New Yorker will make your child(ren)'s evening a fun, rewarding and safe one!
Bobby-Gay DarlingtonBobby-Gay is a a full-time Psychology student attending St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights. Her experience with children includes caring for those from the age of 2 months through 7-years-old. Her well-kempt appearance, sunny disposition and kind manner make Bobby-Gay any parent's ideal babysitter. When she's not reading books to your little ones, Bobby-Gay enjoys reading poetry and jogging.
Jedidah NuamahJedidah is a Junior at St. Francis College pursuing a B.S. in Biology. After graduating in May of 2012, Jedidah plans to pursue a career as a pediatrician by enrolling in medical school. A native of Ghana, West Africa, this super sitter loves the outdoors, and enjoys engaging the little ones she sits for in active games at neighborhood parks and playgrounds. On rainy days, Jedidah and her charges can be found at the table gluing, cutting and coloring, as arts and crafts are this girls best friend! As a staunch believer in the importance of educations, Jedidah is well-equipped to help grade-school students with homework and reading projects on weekday afternoons. With ample sitting experience with children of all ages and a wide-range of hobbies, Jedidah is an ideal choice for any familys sitting needs.

Profiles 3 Tiffany WynterTiffany is a student the the Borough of Manhattan Community College and works as a nanny part-time in her hometown of Forest Hills, Queens. Tiffany's professionalism, positivity and love of children have made her a wonderful asset as a nanny and sitter for the families she has worked with. The tots she sits for love her energy and outdoorsiness, as she involves them in every athletic endeavor she can think of, especially her two favorites: swimming and tennis. When it's time to relax, little ones enjoy snuggling up to this sitter to hear one of her many homespun fairy tales!
Yana NegroutsaYana spends her days as the fulltime nanny of an adorable toddler boy through NY City Explorers nanny service, and as a part-time student at the Institute of Audio Research where she is studying to be an audio engineer. Yana has also received her Teaching Assistant certification through PSIT (Professional Services for International Teachers (School for Teachers) ). Yana has worked as a nanny and babysitter for children ages newborn through 4 years, as a tutor for children ages 5 and up, as an assistant teacher and as a counselor at several afterschool programs and summer camps. She loves to share her appreciation of sports, music and literature with the children she works with, and once her work day is over Yana likes to add travel, cooking, painting, playing music and just about anything creative to the mix. Yana speaks both English and her native language of Russian fluently.
Cassidy PetrazziArt-lover Cassidy Petrazzi graduated from Alfred University in 2007, and currently interns at Spencer Brownstone Gallery during the week. This Westchester County native began her child care experience as a sitter in high school and has gone on to work as a head day camp counselor, an in-bunk sleepaway camp counselor, a part-time sitter and nanny and even a teacher's assistant at her Larchmont, NY synagogue. Cassidy's creativity takes shape in the form of sculptures, illustrated books, bracelets and other crafts when working with children, and in the form of homemade jewelry and fabulous homecooked meals when she's off the clock! Gallie VilfortGallie splits her time between college and her work at a local daycare facility. She attends St. Francis College in Brooklyn, where she is working towards a degree in Nursing. She also attends a CDA class, which she hopes will help her to achieve her goal of one day opening her own daycare. Gallie has worked with her charges at the daycare in classes involving baking and knitting, and when shes done for the day she unwinds with a long run and a good book. In addition to English, Gallie also speaks fluent Creole.
Prisca Dalusma Prisca is a full-time student at SUNY Old Westbury College where she is working towards as degree in Pyschology with a minor in Social Work. Prisca has several regular babysitting clients, but her childcare experience doesnt end there! She spends summers volunteering as a vacation Bible school teacher and the school year tutoring young school-aged children. As the Vice President of her dance team, OOC (Owning Our Community), and former captain of her basketball, softball and bowling teams, Prisca is a natural and well-practiced athlete who enjoys sharing her love of sports with the children for whom she sits. When she finally sits down, Prisca head for the computer to write short stories and plays and reads up on one of her favorite subjects: drama!
Rhona DeaconRhona is an aspiring International Travel Nurse, currently studying Healthcare at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. While she can't practice medicine just yet, this sitter does as much as she can to help others by donating blood at local drives as often as she can. As an avid home cook, technological wizard and athlete who competed as a sprinter on her high school track team, Rhona can always find a way to keep your little one's mind and body occupied and engaged. Her appreciation for multiculturalism has led this Jamaican-born student to seek as much knowledge about this diverse city as she can get her hands on. When she's not studying Japanese, Rhona can often be found in the library researching anything and everything that piques her interest. As a resident of Queens, the most culturally diverse county in the nation, Rhona loves the fact that her city's subway system means that she is never stuck in one place for too long! Known as the International Express by locals, Rhona rides the 7 train as often as possible to explore new neighborhoods.
Alvino JohnsonVino is the dynamic teacher of our Hip to the Hop and Kid Fitness classes, and a personal friend of our company's co-owner and founder, Kisha Edwards-Gandsy. Vino has been babysitting for over 5 years, and he brings to it the kind of energy and endurance that only a runner and cyclist could bring. Setting a record as our most-requested male sitter of all time, Vino has never run across a frown he couldn't turn upside down! With the charm he brought with him from his hometown of Savannah, Georgia and his skills as an actor trained at the Savannah College of Art and Design, this sitter is guaranteed to have a trick up his sleeve for even the most hard to impress sitting charge. When he makes it big as an actor, we'll all be lucky enough to say we knew him when!
Jackie OwusuJackie graduated from Berkley College in Brooklyn with a degree in Fashion Marketing and Management. She pursues her passion of retail merchandising as an employee of H & M during the workweek. Before joining New York City Explorers, Jackie honed her child care skills as an assistant teacher at Knowledge Beginnings Daycare and as an After School Counselor at the YMCA After School Program. While sitting older children Jackie enjoys organizing arts and crafts or baking projects, and when she finally gets home at the end of the evening she unwinds by working out or baking herself a treat. Jackie loves to travel, especially to West Africa where she can converse in Twi, a Ghanan language in which she is fluent.

Profiles 4 Dora OwusuDora is a full-time student at St. Francis College working towards a degree in Social Work. She has been working part-time as a site-coordinator at the YMCAs after-school program with children from kindergarten through 5th grade. for the past three years. While with little ones, Dora loves to involve them with hands-on arts and crafts and to play games with them, which she often makes up on the spot to suit the mood of the child or the day! The fantastically fit Dora spends her free time exercising before heading home to cook a good meal and relax with a favorite book. In addition to English, Dora also speaks fluent Ashanti.
Natiya KhomerikiNatiya spends her days more fashionably than most, as a full-time student Advertising, Marketing and Communications student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Before her sitting career with NY City Explorers, Natiya worked as a full-time nanny. Her sweet disposition attracts children to Natiya instantly, as she is a natural nurturer. A roster of acting classes has made Natiya the best story-teller around, as she sings, dances and tells tells in a way that engages children of all ages. In addition to English, Natiya speaks Russian and Georgian, the language of her native country.
Nadjeda Estriplet This multilingual sitter speaks English, Spanish, Haitian Creole and French, which serves her well living in one of the most linguistically diverse cities in the world. Since graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 2010 with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Hispanic Studies, Nadjeda has divided her time equally between pursuing a career in human resources and volunteering in various capacities at her church. As an active church member, Nadjeda volunteers at the building's food pantry, and is the President of the church youth group for which she plans events and workshops geared towards teens. While she hopes to have a family of her own within the next few years, Nadjeda is happy to devote her energy and creativity now entertaining the children for whom she cares with games, songs and stories. As a former high school softball player, this sporty sitter still enjoys spending time outdoors, and looks forward each year to weather warm enough to allow her to take long walks across the Brooklyn Bridge, her favorite NYC landmark.
Elizabeth Given Elizabeth is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Performance Studies at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, supplementing her professional studies with an internship at the Under the Radar Festival at the Public Theater. Beth's background in theatre lends itself to caring for little ones in myriad ways, from storytelling and singing to fort-building and beyond, all skills that she honed as a sleepaway camp counselor throughout her college years and as a toddler sitter through the present. This theater-enthusiast, writer and beginning yogi speaks conversational Spanish and basic Marathi, which she picked up while working in India in 2009.
Chantel PascenteChantel is the Artistic Director of her own theatre company, called Te Ilum, which produces 3 mainstage plays per year as well as 1 children's series. She graduated from NYU in 2009 with a major in Drama, concentrating on Directing, Lighting and Sound Design. Chantel's sitting experience has included caring for newborns, toddlers, children with special needs and even a family of 5 children ranging in age from 5 years through 7 years! She enjoys painting, coloring, baking and playing theatre games with the children she sits for, but settles down with a good book, movie or recipe when she gets time to herself. Chantel is friendly, dynamic and extremely experienced with caring for children, and makes a great sitter for any tot!
Miltiade Delille Millie is a Nursing Major at Binghamton University in New York State. As a social butterfly who loves to meet and speak with new people, Millie makes it her number one priority to ensure that the little ones in her care feel comfortable from square one! This athletic sitter, who loves to play volleyball as well as to dance will have your tot moving and grooving in no time, making the time spent in her care filled with laughter and smiles. When she's in the city and not hitting the books, the aspiring nurse takes to the Big Apple like a tourist, taking in as many sites as she can with family and friends. In addition to English, Millie speaks conversational Spanish and fluent Hatian Creole.
Minerve DelilleMinerve is working towards a BS in Biology with a Minor in Women's Studies at SUNY Albany. Prior to joining the NY City Explorers team of sitters, Minerve gained experience in the childcare field as a volunteer in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at New York Methodist Hospital and as a part-time employee at Dawn Dusk Daycare. Minerve's experience with children includes little ones from 6 months through 13-years-old. In addition to her experience as a sitter and hospital volunteer, Minerve has worked as a volunteer teacher in Haiti throughout the early Spring of 2011, teaching English, Math and Biology. This creative sitter keeps things fun with an array of games, story-telling and baking projects sure to make her a favorite in your family's home!
Julia LawrenceAs a full-time student at Eugene Lang College (The New School), Julia studies Sociology. This super smiley sitter spends her on-the-clock sitting time playing outside, reading and lending a listening ear to her charges. This Jane of all Trades hails from Westchester, NY where she spent time playing softball in the fresh country air. In her downtime from sitting and studying, Julia gets busy as a DJ at her college's radio station and as a performer and student at Chelsea's Upright Citizens Brigade. Profiles 5 Breana SkeenBreana is a full-time student at Kingsborough Community College, headed to Brooklyn College as a transfer student next semester where she will continue work on her BA, majoring in Early Childhood Education. Aiming for as much experience as she can muster prior to entering the field full-time, Breana currently works as a teaching assistant at Explorers Academy Preschool where she assists with lesson preparation, lunch time, enrichment class supervision, including ballet, yoga and karate and the midday rush of lunchtime and nap time routines. With experience from sweeties ranging in age from 5 months through 9 years old, Breana's varied experience, level-headedness and kind sincere disposition make her an ideal caretaker for families with multiple children of differing ages. She's a favorite among NY City Explorers staff, who entrust her with their own tots whenever she's free! As a sitter Breana has worked throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan, and as a senior camp counselor at Summer Adventure Camp Breana's experience includes in-home activities as well as supervising children from NY and abroad during excursions throughout the five boroughs, including to the Brooklyn Aquarium, the American Museum of Natural History and other New York City institutions. Conscientious, dedicated and understanding, Breana's sole foray into the realm of irresponsibility is her inability to say no to chocolate!
Wanta BaptisteOriginally from Haiti, Wanta is currently completing my sophomore year at York college where she studies Social Work. Her life's success will be achieved in her eyes when she is a happily married mama with a Masters degree in Social Work, working for and with abused and neglected children. If Wanta achieves her dreams she'll be one busy gal, as she'd love to have as many as five children! Observant, dedicated and friendly, this sitter has exactly the attributes that make caring for children her ideal college job. A big child at heart herself, Wanta spends her limited amount of downtime indulging her sweet tooth: Her fave naughty nibble? Reese's Puffs cereal!
Erin Eck Erin is a research assistant for the Garden Ecology Project, acommunity partnership which develops environmentally-friendlygardening practices with and for urban gardeners and documents theecological benefits of NYC's community gardens. Before joining NY City Explorersin June, 2011 Erin had a built up a great deal of experienceworking with children as a reading and math tutor. She is thoroughlyenjoying babysitting and takes every opportunity to get outdoors withthe kids. She especially enjoys Fall and the leaf piles it brings with it! Inher free time she likes to putter around in her backyard garden, read,and attend events at the city's great independent bookstores.
